FuSSO Experience

Hi everyone, my name is Eliza Chen and I am glad to be a FuSSO mentor. I graduated from Occidental College, majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Public Health. I have always been fascinated by the human body and various disease processes, and therefore I decided to go to medical school to pursue my passion for healthcare and clinical research. During medical school, I am the founder and president of the Chinese Medical Club and vice president of the Oncology Interest Group. I serve as an admission office ambassador and participate in the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) for prospective students. I am very interested in cancer research. My project proposal in the early detection of glioblastoma progression in post-surgical resection patients has allowed me to receive the AOA Carolyn L. Kuckein Student Research Fellowship. I was also nominated by my classmates and inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. My current specialty interest is Hematology-Oncology and my hobbies include cooking, running, blogging, and exploring new cities.
